Resources

Bartleby.com

Dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, quotations, usage guides... every reference a good writer needs. I love this site.

Wikipedia

Free, open-source, collaborative encyclopedia. Use it, modify it, make it your own. While it maybe doesn't have the authority of a traditional encyclopedia, Wikipedia responds much more quickly to new information.

International Movie Database (IMDB)

Great resource for any film lover.

Online Publications

Creative Loafing

Atlanta's premiere alternative weekly. Most of my work is published here.

Verb

A literary audioquarterly: like a literary journal, but in audio format, with original work read by the authors.

The Chattahoochee Review

Atlanta-based literary journal for which I sometimes write.

Gambit Weekly

New Orleans' alternative weekly. I do some writing for them.

Salon.com

One of the best online publications around. Great political analysis from a liberal-leaning perspective.

Writers

The Duck & Herring Company

Offbeat group of Atlanta writers (myself among them) who give entertaining readings and publish quarterly "Pocket Field Guides."

Jennifer Jerome

Great poet, great friend. The link above is to a poem for which she won an award at The Pedestal Magazine. More of her poetry at Astropoetica (and another), Sidereality, and Chiaroscuro. Jen's latest in Pedestal.

Work Worldwide

Website of Nancy Mueller, a writer specializing in international careers, communications, and diversity.

Bookstores

A Cappella Books

My favorite new and used bookstore in Atlanta.

Outwrite Bookstore and Coffeehouse

Great Midtown Atlanta bookstore.

Powell's Books

Online home of the great independent bookstore.

Amazon

Perhaps you've heard of them?
